This week the Ellen DeGeneres show got back into the full swing and today her special guest was Leonardo DiCaprio, who stopped by to talk about his new film The Revenant and some of the bad luck he has had through a few daredevil events.

DeGeneres praised the director Alejandro G. Inarritu and DiCaprio for the amazing job they did on The Revenant and also predicted that DiCaprio would win an Academy Award for his performance in the film.

DiCaprio told DeGeneres that the it was one of the most interesting movies that he has ever been apart of because he and the cast submerged themselves in nature and the elements. He told DeGeneres that it was one of the most difficult professional undertaking that he has ever had.

The film contains very little CGI and was only shot in natural light which gave them one hour to shoot everyday.

Meanwhile, DiCaprio did diss about his beard, which he had to condition and shampoo in order to keep it clean. He complained about getting food in it and said that he probably wouldn't be growing a beard like he did for The Revenant. The highlight of the interview turned into story time from DiCaprio as he recapped stories where he jumped out of an airplane and both his chute and the tandem instructor's chute got tangled.

He was told that he might break his legs because they were falling too fast but thankfully he didn't.

His craziest experience however, was a plane ride to Russia where an engine exploded but for the best experience you might want to check out the video below and listen to the way DiCaprio tells the story.

The Revenant is scheduled to hit theaters Friday, January 8.
