Deepwater Horizon star Kate Hudson visited The Ellen Show to chat about her sons and what it was like filming with her dad, Kurt Russell who is also in the film.

That's not all, Hudson and Ellen DeGeneres hopped into bed together to take a pretty awesome Snapchat story.

DeGeneres and Hudson were in the middle of talking about her sons and her 12-year-old is not a daredevil but her younger son is already skating off of ramps.

Hudson was amazed by the photo they found and joked that her mother always posts pictures of the kids without asking.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres wanted to get into the Deepwater Horizon film, which is another side of the BP oil spill that was highly publicized in 2010.

Hudson said they told the human story of Deepwater Horizon and what really happened on the rig. They want to honor what happened and the families of those who were lost in the tragic accident.

Hudson told DeGeneres that she and her dad were simultaneously put on the project and when they called each other, they were in disbelief that a father and daughter pair got a role. However, Hudson and Russell don't have too many scenes together.

She said there was something beautifully wistful about being on set with him. Later on it was time for a little Snapchat fun from a bed with DeGeneres and Hudson.
