The host of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver, reacted to the shooting in Orlando that left 50 people dead and more 53 injured.

In his statement, Oliver also sent a message of togetherness and showed why terror will never overpower love in the world.

"Before we start the show tonight I would like to quickly address the tragic events in Orlando," said Oliver.

"As I'm sure you know by now at least 50 people were killed by a gunman at a gay nightclub in what is being described as a terrorist attack.

Look it's still early and details are still emerging and right now this just hurts.

Oliver said that the pain is so familiar while citing the terrorist attacks in Paris. He said terrorist seem to target everything that is wonderful about America.

He went on to say that he would personally embrace a Latin night at a gay club in the theme-park capital of the world as a representation of everything that is wonderful about America.

He said it was hard to even know what to do but that on a day where a dip-sh*t terrorist wanted us to focus on an act of brutality and hatred, it was better to show a video of the people lining up around the block in Florida to donate blood to those who were injured.

His speech like many that have been delivered since the tragic events in Orlando, speaks of sharing stories of togetherness and continuing to love rather than give in to the extreme and hateful nature of these attacks.
