Today Howard Stern revisited his WNBC firing as today marks the 30th anniversary and discussed what went down when he was let go on his SiriusXM radio show.

"Howard said he thinks they thought they were going to nip him in the bud. Howard said they offered him $50,000 to go to L.A. and never work in New York," according to MarksFriggin.

"Howard said at the time it was a lot of money. He said that's about as much as he was making a year. He said he's not sure if he was even allowed to come back and visit."

Stern told his staff and listeners that John Hayes wasn't the one making the final decision but he did want him gone. Stern also said that Hayes told him that Robin Quivers wasn't to read the news anymore because she wasn't doing it the right way.

Stern said that he told Hayes that Quivers could read the news better than anyone and that he thought Hayes hated him after that exchange.

"Howard said to John he was just a pain in the ass. Howard said John took great pleasure in being a d**k," according to MF.

"Howard said not as much as pig virus though. Howard said Pig Virus is dead now. Howard said he died at the radio station he was working at. Howard said he doesn't say that with any joy."

The entire drama was discussed in detail but Stern said that it would be discussed even further later on in his Sternthology episode.
