After having a ton of success with her solo album This Is What The Truth Feels Like, Gwen Stefani paid the SiriusXM Stern Show a visit to chat about her past, including her time in No Doubt and much more.

Howard Stern kicked off the interview by telling Stefani how great she looks despite having three children.

Stefani said she doesn't work as hard at her body as she did in the past and that exercising is more of a spiritual thing now.

When she was younger, Stefani became a swimmer because, as she says, her family had a history of weight issues and she didn't want to be fat.

"Howard asked Gwen about being the lead singer of No Doubt and dating the bass player. Gwen said that he was a massive fan of Howard's back in the day," according to MarksFriggin's rundown.

"Howard asked if the band stays together and she's still working with him and she has a song about him is it weird.

She said it's still weird. Howard said that song is "Don't Speak" and it's about breaking up with the bass player."

Stern and Stefani briefly spoke about her brother who wanted to start a band but ended up being an animator for The Simpsons and Ren and Stimpy.

Stefani said that she was the chubby kid who grew up over the summer, a band geek but wasn't unpopular and wasn't bullied.

"Howard said that Jimmy Iovine found the band. Howard said Gwen became the lead singer after the other one committed suicide," according to MF.

"Gwen said that there was a guy in the band who said they needed keyboards in the band."

Stefani talked a bit more about breaking up with Tony Kanal.

Things began to kick into gear for her band No Doubt, after the hit album Tragic Kingdom. Following the talk about her breakup with Kanal, Stefani and Stern dove into how she got the job on The Voice.

"Howard said when you look at music and you think about going on a reality show you have to think about what people are going to think," according to MF.

"Gwen said she was drained from doing the tour and then the No Doubt album.

She said she was feeling ill and it wasn't a good time for her. She said she was trying to write and the last session she did was with Pharrell."

Stefani got the job through her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale's manager, who told her she should do the show.

Stefani said it was weird for her to do the show. She did say that she was very grateful that she was able to be a part of the show.

"She said she was told about Blake and Adam Levine and Pharrell. She said she didn't know Adam either," according to MF.

"Gwen said she didn't think that Pharrell was going to do it but he did. She said there was so much going on at one time."

Stefani told Stern that she actually wasn't into country music or Blake Shelton.

Stefani said the entire year has been crazy for her and that when she was going back to The Voice, it was like a big secret she was carrying with her.

"Gwen said she got back to The Voice in July. She said she didn't know Blake at all. She said that no one talks to each other back stage," according to the rundown.

"She said she got to know Blake that way. Gwen said she had this huge weight on her and then Blake did his announcement and then she was in shock herself. She said it felt like he was exposing her."

Stefani also opened up about creating the album and how vulnerable she was at the time. It was a pretty insightful interview from Stefani. We'll have to wait and see who Stern has planned for his shows next week.
