'Finding Dory' Beats Out 'The Legend of Tarzan's' Box Office Debut

It looks like the force that is Finding Dory is continuing to dominate the box office as it beat out The Legend of Tarzan and The Purge: Election Year, who were celebrating their opening weekend.

"Disney's 'Finding Dory' continues to swim the world's box office oceans and tops the $500 million mark in the wake of a $76.3 million weekend," according to comScore's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

"Second place goes to Warner Bros.' 'The Legend of Tarzan' that swung into 20 territories including North America this weekend and came out with a $56.9 million total."

Finding Dory reigns supreme in both worldwide wide and domestic box office numbers, making it one giant, dominating film from Disney.
