'Vampire Diaries' Best Romance Decided: Vote On Hottest Male Character

The week long Empty Lighthouse poll has closed and the winner of the the best romance in The CW hit, "The Vampire Diaries" is none other than Klaus and Caroline (Klaroline).

With that comes a new poll on the hottest male character for season six.

After a week long poll with over 5,000 votes, the winner of the best couple is

Klaroline

(Candice Accola & Joseph Morgan) with 2,028 votes. Surprisingly enough the two characters love story has long passed from about two seasons ago but it still remains the fan favorite according to our results.

The painstaking back and forth relationship between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) (Delena) takes the second place with 1,520 votes.

So far it looks like the troubles are continuing for the two after last nights episode "Do You Remember The First Time." Elena does seem a lot more eager to regain her memories so that she is no longer missing a whole portion of her life.

The original love story that started it all stands at third place with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Stelena) with 821 votes. They were the couple that sparked it all and some fans have certainly not forgotten the early days between the two characters.

Stefan also has the fourth spot with 677 votes for best romance but instead of Elena, it's Caroline that he is paired with (Steroline).

Clearly there is some sort of tension between the two even after she tells him that she hates him.

Stefan looks to have something to chase and someone to protect, however, will it ever actually pan out between the two after the exchange on last nights episode? It sure adds a fresh take to "The Vampire Diaries" and it would be nice to Caroline finally gain happiness with someone she cares about.

Now that the results are out of the way, Empty Lighthouse is introducing an all new poll asking fans of "The Vampire Diaries" who gets their vote for the hottest male character of season six so far. The selection is pretty intense especially with the addition of three brand new characters.

Season six has shaped up to be a little more unpredictable than the others and the writers are continuing to keep their fans engaged with a dynamic plot line.

Stefan Salvatore is the first major character that the show initially revolved around. He was Elena's first love interest and has been subjected to torture by his own brother, an evil doppelganger and an original family who was hellbent on ripping Mystic Falls apart and all of the supernatural beings in it.

Stefan has tried to assume his role as a protector, especially of a questionable next love in Caroline.

He continued to assume that role this week in "Do You Remember The First Time," as he helped lead the team of Enzo and Matt in protecting Sheriff Forbes and extracting information from Tripp.

But will his heroics be enough to win over Caroline and stop her from hating him?

Damon Salvatore is the brother who has taken over the role of being Elena's protector. After losing him last season she completely fell apart a resorted to having her memories erased by Alaric.

Now after returning, Damon is forced to fight for his girl who doesn't seem to remember their relationship but instead, all of he horrible things he did.

In "Do You Remember The First time," things seem to be getting closer between him and Elena but ultimately walked away because he loves her that much.

Liam Davis (Marco James) is one of the new characters that is stirring things up.

First a relationship between him and Elena that made Damon a little jealous and then he slowly turned into an antagonist in the latest episode.

After being left at the banquet, Liam turns to digging deeper in what secrets Elena is hiding which could make for a very sticky situation.

Alaric (Matt Davis) is the patriarch of the show so-to-speak. He assumed the role as Elena and Jeremy's guardian after they lost Jenna.

He briefly became a vampire this season but all of that ended when Jo used magic to save his life. Now the two share a budding romance.

Enzo (Michael Malarkey) is the enigma.

He was introduced as Damon's friends during their days being tortured at the hands of the Whitmore's.

After finally being freed he has asserted himself into picking up Damon's slack in the enigmatic department and something about his involvement with Caroline and Stefan might get fans thinking that he could cause further issues between the two.

Kai (Chris Wood) is yet another enigma, however, he happens to be a magical one. Witches have been a staple in "The Vampire Diaries" especially with Bonnie (Kat Graham) being one herself.

Kai was revealed to be Damon and Bonnie's stalker in May 10, 1994, the time period they were all trapped in. While Damon managed to escape, Bonnie and Kai remained trapped together it was also revealed that Kai is Jo's brother.

Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) is the faithful and loyal human who tries to keep sane while all of his friends are supernatural beings. He is often used as bait and sometimes comes very close to death.

he and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) have built a solid relationship between each other that took a hit when Jeremy started lashing out after losing Bonnie. Now Matt is trying to find his place in the fight between the new vampire hunters and his friends.

Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) was linked to Caroline at one point but the werewolf let that all go down the drain. Now he is struggling to keep his curse under control and owes Liv Parker (Penelope Mitchell) some thanks for not slipping.

Liv practically saved his life and now he has been spending his time repaying her. There also seems to be a very interesting love story brewing between Liv and tyler as well.

Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) is Elena's little brother and the lost vampire hunter. He was first introduced as sort of an emo character but broke out of his shell when he started dating Bonnie.

Now that Bonnie is gone, Jeremy is in a darker place than he's ever been before. Jeremy has managed to lose every girlfriend he has ever had, first Vicki, Matt's sister and then Anna.

Tripp Cooke (Colin Ferguson) is the new villain for the season.

He has emerged as a smart and ruthless vampire hunter and member of a founding family of Mystic Falls.

In the most recent episode it has been revealed that Enzo turned him into a vampire before Stefan and Caroline got to him in the last episode which will make things a lot more difficult for him as a vampire.

Luke Parker (Chris Brochu) has assumed a smaller role from his initial appearance. He is Liv's brother and a played the part of Elena's special blood drug pusher.

This season he has made just a few smaller appearances, but as things get more interesting between his sister and Tyler he could make more of an impact.
