It's been a pretty momentous couple of weeks for Drake and his album Views. Drake was on track to make the number one debut on the Billboard 200 Chart and the prediction has finally come to fruition.

"As expected, Drake's Views album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with an explosive first week," according to Billboard.

"The set earned 1.04 million equivalent album units in the week ending May 5 in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. Traditional album sales comprised 852,000 copies of that sum (a slight upgrade from the 851,000 that was previously reported)."

Being released exclusively on Apple Music for one week solidified Drake's relationship with Apple. Together they did huge numbers and set a streaming record according to the report.

The report claims that songs from Views were streamed approximately 245.1 million times in the U.S. alone.

Views was a celebratory album released by Drake to pay homage to Toronto. It featured elements from the city with influences from the varying ethnicities that inhabit the city.

In conjunction with his celebration of Toronto, Drake has also earned his sixth straight number one debut, according to Billboard. You can check out our full review of Drake's Views here.
