Dinah Thorpe Releases New Single "State of Things"

Dinah Thorpe is a young and talented indie-folk and pop artist from Toronto who has a brilliant and refreshing sound.

The artist just released her newest album 'Lullabies and Wake Up Calls' last week, and has also officially released a new single from the album "State of Things". Listen below on Soundcloud to the trendy tune!

Thorpe has been compared to the similar musical sounds of Natalie Merchant, Beth Orton, Grace Jones, Feist, David Bowie - among many other talented professional artists.

She uses influences from a variety of different genres of music for her own work, including folk, trip hop and even blues to create her unique indie-folk sound.

This lovely artist has gained raving reviews and was nominated for a 2012 Juno Award.

Her newest album 'Lullabies and Wake Up Calls' is also nominated for a 2014 Juno Award. She also was nominated for an Independent Music Award for her last collection of songs, '12' in the Folk Singer/Songwriter category.

This is Thorpe's third album release, and has been described as "a delicate, environmental and politcal force of grace" by Independent Feedback and has "a style and lyrics that immediately won us over" by Earmilk.
