Bioware, the developer of Star Wars: The Old Republic, teased the return of Revan--the protagonist to their award-winning 2003 game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Their trailer is brief, and just shows Revan walking around a chamber with his lightsaber. Revan made his original appearance as an amnesiac Republic soldier fighting his former apprentice, Darth Malak.

Revan's reveal in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is considered one of the most well executed plot twists in video game history.

After regaining his memory, Revan retreated to the unknown space to defeat the Sith Emperor--the antagonist of Bioware's Star Wars-based MMO.

Now, according to IGN, Revan will be making a return to the Star Wars Expanded Universe canon.

"He wouldn't be seen again for some time," IGN reports, "with only some brief appearances in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG for PC, most notably a mid-level Flashpoint (an instance-based, short adventure for four people).

This new trailer shines a light on him however, which leads to believe he will play a major role in the upcoming 3.0 update for the game."

Star Wars: The Old Republic was released in 2010 with high expectations. But, after the game didn't perform as hoped, it became mostly free-to-play with some exclusive features for paid subscribers.
