Days had past since his last tweet and post on Instagram however he returned to to social media yesterday to send a reassuring message to his 56.1 thousand followers.

"Hello guys, I'm on vacation but not forgotten you," wrote Gillies in his caption. "I decided to be a bit radical and it was fun. Happy New Year to all and until next year."

The cast of "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" have been pretty awesome to their fans when it comes to showing their appreciation for all of their support.

The two shows have amassed a large following since the initial days of "The Vampire Diaries." As the show reaches the second half of their third season the action is only getting better.

Before the mid-season break, Elijah finally expressed all of his feelings for Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) yet granting her his blessing in pursuing her rightful marriage in order to protect her child hope.

That will without a doubt make it very hard for Hayley to go through with the marriage but both Hayley and Elijah have bigger fish to fry and they come in the form of Mikael and Esther.

"The Originals' also teased another possible appearance from Nina Dobrev as Tatia, the first Doppelganger on Monday.

Fans will have to wait it out for a few weeks until "The Originals" returns on January 19 to find out what happens next in the French Quarter.
