Last time Damon Wayans Jr. appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he made a joke about his grandmother sending him nude pictures, and she was not happy.

This time around, Wayans Jr. took the time to make a public apology. "She was livid," he said. Apparently, one of her friends who watched the show told his grandmother about Damon's not so funny joke.

He tried to defend himself, explaining that it was only comedy, and to not take it so seriously, but she wasn't hearing it. She refused to speak to him, and even began referring to him as David.

Ellen stood up for him, clarifying that it was, indeed, a joke, and hopefully this public apology will smooth everything over for Wayans Jr.

While on The Ellen Show, Wayans Dr. also talked about his return to the show, "New Girl." He's thrilled to be a regular on the show's fourth season.

Michael O'Connell at The Hollywood Reporter reported: "The 20th Century Fox production booked Wayans for a six-episode arc shortly before the start of New Girl's third season, and subsequently signed him on as a special guest star for the remainder of the year."
