Charlize Theron to Star in the 'Fast 8' Film for 2017

When it was announced that Fast 8 would actually be in production, die-hard fans of the series were both worried and excited.

Now, they have something to be very excited about as the Fast 8 cast increases in size with the addition of Charlize Theron.

"Universal Pictures has closed Charlize Theron to star in Fast 8, which director F. Gary Gray and producer Neal Moritz move into production next month for release on April 14, 2017," according to Deadline.

"Theron, who's coming off a memorable action turn in Mad Max: Fury Road, will play a new character in the blockbuster franchise."

With each installment of the film, the cast has gotten bigger and the anticipation for the release of the films have grown. With the addition of Theron, the action hit is surely to see a heightened amount of buzz.

There hasn't been any information regarding whether or not Theron will play a villain like Jason Statham or be on the same team as Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson.

Theron also has a major role in the upcoming film, The Huntsman: Winters War Are you ready for Fast 8?
