The youngsters of BADBADNOTGOODsit at No. 2 with "Velvet" on Billboard's Emerging Artists Chart but can their smooth sound take the No. 1 spot from rapper Dej Loaf and her hit "Try Me"?

"Velvet" is not the type of song you would expect from these three young artists but even more surprising is they reception they have gotten since the release of the song.

The song reached 40,000 plays in just one day which is huge for a band that has 30K Twitter followers.

The Emerging Artists Chart is also tracked by using social media and the amount of shares which proves that people want others to hear this classic sound.

The song sounds like something right out of your favorite 1970's film. It is old, authentic and very sophisticated.

It was Produced, Written & Arranged By BADBADNOTGOOD, Alex Sowinski on Drums Percussion, Vibraphone, Love, Chester Hansen on Bass, Synthesizer, Love and Matty Tavares on Keyboard, Synthesizer, Guitar, Love.

The title of the track completely describes it as it is as smooth as velvet.

If the guys can get enough people to appreciate the authenticity of the music then they may have a shot at taking down Dej Loaf and her hit song "Try Me" which has been the subject of a few remixes, most recently today by King Louie. Loaf has been able to get the co-sign from Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa as well as many others.

BADBADNOTGOOD may have a quite teh task on their hands but they are certainly off to a good start.
