Call of Duty is breaking sales records again.

Advanced Warfare, the latest installment in the legendary shooter franchise, is the "the highest-selling digital launch in console history according to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and internal Activision estimates," Activision stated in a press release.

In addition, Advanced Warfare's sales have trumped all other popular media.

"Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc...today announced that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the biggest entertainment launch of the year," Activision stated, "besting not only all other video games, but also the biggest movies, music and books launched in 2014."

Thus far, the franchise's revenue is over $10 Billion, which exceeds the collective profits of: Hunger Games, Iron Man, Transformers, and Avengers.

Advanced Warfare is also doing well with critics, who have praised the title. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the developers of Modern Warfare 3, the game has been praised for its visuals and science fiction dynamic.

"Simply throwing a robot suit onto Call of Duty could have been a lazy path to making Advanced Warfare seem different from what we've played before," IGN stated in their review of the game, "but the way Sledgehammer has integrated its enhanced abilities and choices into every aspect of how we fight went above and beyond."
