The story of Greta Hokanson and Danny Daniels is not only inspiring but important in explaining why it's important to help others. Both Hokanson and Daniels made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about their story.

Hokanson discovered that she had Leukemia when her energy level began to drop at the age of 15-years-old and went to the doctor for what she thought was strep throat. She had begun taking oral chemotherapy but wasn't tolerating the treatment well, as she told DeGeneres during her visit.

The doctors told her that a bone marrow transplant would give her the highest chance of survival but her two older sisters did not fit the match.

Daniels had been serving in the Air Force National Guard had a friend who was sick.

He and a bunch of his other friends had signed up with the National Bone Marrow Registry to see if they could help.

Unfortunately his friend ended up passing away but later down the line Daniels, who had forgotten about signing up, found out he was a match for Hokanson and told DeGeneres that when he found out it was a 15-year-old girl he didn't know how he could not give a younger person the chance to live out the rest of their life.

Daniels said that the procedure is very quick and only took about six weeks to go over. Hokanson met Daniels two years after her surgery and 10 years later when she was getting married there was no doubt that she wanted to have Daniels and his wife at her wedding. She was thinking of a way to honor Daniels for his generosity and giving her the ability to see that monumental day in her life.

The DJ suggested a dance and Hokanson was all for it. The full story was detailed in an ABC News report but you can check out DeGeneres' interview with Daniels and Hokanson below.
