Rock icon Billy Idol will embark on a theatre tour of the U.S. and Canada in January and February of 2015.

The North American tour, which begins January 21 in New Orleans is the latest leg of Idol's "Kings & Queens Of The Underground Live" World Tour which includes previously announced shows in Europe in November 2014.

Today's announcement of Idol's North American tour comes one day before Idol will release his highly anticipated self-written autobiography "Dancing With Myself," which will be released tomorrow, October 7.

Idol was featured on yesterday's CBS Sunday Morning and will appear tomorrow on NBC-TV's Today Show and the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, October 8.

The following day, Thursday, October 9, Idol will be interviewed live on stage as the keynote event of the 2014 CBGB Music and Film Festival in New York City.

On January 28th, Idol will take the stage at New York's Beacon Theatre.

Oklahoma's Broncho, who recently released their critically acclaimed new album Just Enough Hip To Be Woman, will appear as special guest.

Two weeks following the arrival of the autobiography "Dancing With Myself," Idol will release his first studio album in almost a decade, "Kings & Queens Of The Underground" on October 21.

"Kings & Queens Of The Underground" was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as producer to two songs, including the anthemic lead single, "Can't Break Me Down." USA Today recently named "Can't Break Me Down" their song of the week, declaring "with its punkish drive, sneering vocals and roaring Steve Stevens guitar, Can't Break Me Down could have made a great follow-up to latter-day Idol hits."

Tickets will go on sale Friday, October 10th at 11am through Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster's national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.

If tickets remain they will be available at the Beacon Theatre, Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden box offices on Saturday October 11th.

Idol was an early architect of the sound, style, and fury of punk rock. His lip-curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into the mainstream as one of MTV's first megastars, making him one of the most recognizable faces in pop music, while selling out arenas everywhere he played.

He has sold 40 million albums while scoring numerous platinum albums worldwide, nine top forty singles in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K. including "Dancing With Myself, "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell," "Mony Mony," "Eyes Without A Face," "Flesh For Fantasy," and "Cradle Of Love."
