Al Michaels joined Howard Stern Wednesday morning to talk sports, and when Stern asked who the best team in the NFL was at the moment, Michaels said it was Green Bay.

"Green Bay!?" Howard said. "Not Arizona?"
"Arizona is doing it with smoke and mirrors," Michaels said. They've got a phenomenal story, "but, the way Green Bay's playing right now..."

This week, at least, it's Green Bay. "Next week, who knows?" Michaels said. "Green Bay scored 50 or more points in the last week, they looked phenomenal."

Al Michaels' has a new memoir on the book shelves called "You Can't Make This Up: Miracles, Memories and the Perfect Marriage of Sports and Television." Tom Hoffarth from Los Angeles Daily News reported: ""I've covered a couple of thousand sports events all over the world," he wrote. "I've called Super Bowls and World Series and NBA Finals, the Summer Olympics, the Winter Olympics -- and have hosted the Stanley Cup Final.

A number of years ago, a colleague at ABC figured out that I've appeared on live prime-time network television far more than anyone in history.

But from day one, I've always tried to follow the advice the legendary sportscaster Curt Gowdy once gave me: Don't ever get jaded."

Michaels also talks about how the actual art of announcing is like writing a song. All things considered, it seems like Michaels opinion on Green Bay is one to trust.
