Good news for those who fell in love with Marvel's biracial Spider-Man, Miles Morales. In the fall, Miles will become the Spider-Man in the all-new Marvel Universe.

The writers of Miles Morales' "Spider-Man," Sarah Pichelli and Brian Bendis are thrilled about the decision. They've worked hard to create a Spider-Man that stays true to the Spidey ideals, balance of power and responsibility, but also keeps true to the kind of background Miles comes with.

Marvel made the announcement via tweet, along with an interview with the creators. Bendis knows first hand the importance of Miles, whose father is African-American and whose mother is Puerto Rican, as he has adopted two children of color.

"Many kids of color who when they were playing superheroes with their friends, their friends wouldn't let them be Batman or Superman because they don't look like those heroes but they could be Spider-Man because anyone could be under that mask," says writer and co-creator Brian Bendis.

Miles took over from Peter Parker in the Ultimate Universe when Parker died while in the line of duty back in 2011. Miles' racial background makes him inspirational to kids of color and his rise to popularity with all fans proves that anyone can be a hero.

The change comes from Marvel's new initiative for more diversity in their universes, following Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, Falcon becoming Captain America, and a female Thor.
