The Justice League movie is out this November and the person that is playing Steppenwolf has described a little bit on playing the main villain.

As expected, it sounds like the character will be created with CGI with the actor providing the voice and motion capture.

Irish actor Ciaran Hinds confirmed with an interview with The Independent that he is indeed playing Steppenwolf in the Justice League movie.

The actor admitted that he has never read any comic books growing up so this whole process has been new to him.

He says providing the motion capture for Steppenwolf was "very tight and embarrassing". This is because he had to wear a tight mo-cap suit in order the capture the scenes.

The character will be digitally enhanced with only Hinds' eyes and mouth movements being retained. The rest of the character that we see on the big screen will be completely new.

Hinds mentions/speculates that his role in Excalibur may have helped him get the role of the character in the first place.

He says director Zack Snyder and his team are really big fans of Excalibur so that may have been a factor why he was chosen to be in the movie in the first place.

Many people thought Darkseid will be the main villain in Justice League, although it sounds like he is being saved for future sequels. Hinds describes that Steppenwolf is an older character that just wants to "get out of his own enslavement to Darkseid".

However, he cannot do that yet as he still has to go out and take over many worlds. This is why he has come to Earth with the many Parademons that we saw in the latest trailer.

Justice League will be out in North America on November 17th, 2017. It is expected to be the first of many sequels that will be released in the near future.
