Will The Shield Finally Fully Reunite At WWE SummerSlam 2017?

The Shield were one of the most popular factions in recent WWE history. The team were dominant for a while until they famously broke up in the middle of 2014. Now it seems as if WWE is wanting to bring the faction back together. Will it finally happen at WWE SummerSlam 2017 this Sunday?

As seen on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins finally buried the hatchet and are a team again. Rollins and Ambrose are challenging Sheamus and Cesaro for the Raw Tag Team Championship. Rollins and Ambrose are only two thirds of The Shield as Roman Reigns made up the final piece of the puzzle.

As of this moment, WWE is keeping Reigns away from Rollins. This is because Reigns has his own match at SummerSlam. He is a part of a Fatal 4 Way match for the Universal Title. The other wrestlers in the match include Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar.

If I were WWE, I would book Rollins and Ambrose to win the Tag Team Titles and then they interfere in the Universal Title match to aid Reigns for the victory. That way, all members of The Shield will have championship gold and can dominate Raw the same way they did a couple of years ago.

With the NFL season and other TV shows starting up again soon, WWE needs to keep its viewers intrigued. A full reunion of The Shield consisting of Roman Reigns as Universal Champion and Rollins and Ambrose being the Tag Team Champs could make for some good television (hopefully).

Preferably, it will be cool to see them as a heel act. Ambrose and especially Reigns have been babyfaces for far too long. As for Rollins, I feel he plays a better heel than he does a babyface. We'll just have to wait and see this Sunday to see if The Shield will finally be back.
