Peter Jackson is producing a new movie called Mortal Engines and the film will be out in time for Christmas 2018.

He has now shared the first official trailer for the film online, which was only previously attached to cinema showings of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Peter Jackson revealed the new trailer on his official Facebook page, and the movie is looking epic so far. You can read his announcement for the new trailer down below.

The teaser trailer for Mortal Engines is now live online. The film is directed by Christian Rivers and will be released next year. Enjoy!

It's worth mentioning this is a teaser trailer, so not much has been revealed just yet. That said, the film is already based on an existing novel so those that have read the book already know what it's about.

The book itself is broken up to four parts, so it's possible this film will have more movies in the future.

That is of course if the first one is successful because making movies like this are a huge investment even for big film studios like Universal.

Anyway, the main gist of the story is about a futuristic Earth where cities are on motorized wheels for some reason. The moving cities attack one another in order to survive since most of the world's resources have been depleted.

Aside from Avatar's Stephen Lang and The Matrix's Hugo Weaving, most of the cast is full of new unknowns. The film itself is to be released in North America on December 14th, 2018.

You can check out the new trailer for yourself down below. Hopefully we get some more footage from the movie soon because it's looking very unique and interesting thus far.
