Marvel Is Interested In Making Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is not even out yet, but Marvel is interested in making a third film in the popular series. Marvel is confident the second movie will do extremely well based on the feedback that they have received from test audiences as well as from fans watching the trailers.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was somewhat confirmed by director James Gunn during an interview with Complex. That being said though, Gunn has to decide within a few weeks whether or not he wants to commit to a third movie or move on to make something else instead. You can read his comments below.

There will be a Guardians 3, that's for sure. We're trying to figure it out. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do really, that's all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing. You know, I'm going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I'm just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.

It will be interesting to see what a third movie will be like since the team will be a part of Avengers: Infinity War. Gunn didn't want to say much, but the Guardians will be in the next Avengers movie to try and take down Thanos. Based on his comments though, it sounds like Infinity War will focus more on The Avengers than The Guardians. He implied The Guardians have an integral role in the movie, but may not have the biggest part. We'll just have to wait and see when it comes out in 2018.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released in North America on May 5th, 2017. The movie comes out in late April for some countries in Europe and around the world.
