Logan Director To Work On A Star Wars Boba Fett Movie

Boba Fett has always been one of the most popular Star Wars characters ever created, although sadly his screen time in the movies wasn't that long.

Well it sounds like Disney/Lucasfilm is listening to the fans because an entire Boba Fett movie is now in the works.

As reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, James Mangold is set to write and direct a standalone movie based on the popular Boba Fett character. This is huge since James Mangold is the writer and director for the movie Logan.

This is pretty significant because James Mangold was nominated for an Academy Award for the script he wrote for Logan.

This is a sign that Disney/Lucasfilm is serious about the project and they wanted the right person for the job.

The only question mark that remains is when this new movie will be released. Next year sees the release of Star Wars: Episode IX while in 2020 it's rumored that Disney/Lucasfilm will be releasing a movie based on Obi-Wan Kenobi.

If things go according to plan, we might not see the Boba Fett movie until the year 2021. That is unless Disney does the same strategy as Marvel and decides to release more than one Star Wars movie per year.

This is breaking news and only The Hollywood Reporter has official details on the story.

They say that the script is being kept hidden so nobody knows when in the Star Wars timeline this Boba Fett movie is taking place in.
