With the third episode of "The Vampire Diaries" set for tonight it looks like Candice Accola will be spending her downtime catching up on some reading with "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn.

Accola plays Caroline Forbes on "The Vampire Diaries," a show that is a thriller in it's own sense, but it looks like when that can no longer fill her void Accola turns to a different type of thriller to get her fix.

She recently posted a photo of her reading Flynn's "Dark Places" to her Instagram page, with the caption reading, "First Gone Girl...then Sharp Objects...now Dark Places... @gillianflynn , I'm hooked to your storytelling."

It looks like Accola just can't get enough of Flynn's suspenseful tales. Most recently, Flynn's "Gone Girl" has been adapted to a motion film starring Ben Affleck.

"As Libby's search takes her from shabby Missouri strip clubs to abandoned Oklahoma tourist towns, the narrative flashes back to January 2, 1985," says Gillian Flynn's summary of "Dark Places." "The events of that day are relayed through the eyes of Libby's doomed family members-including Ben, a loner whose rage over his shiftless father and their failing farm have driven him into a disturbing friendship with the new girl in town.

Piece by piece, the unimaginable truth emerges, and Libby finds herself right back where she started-on the run from a killer."

Tonight Accola will be assuming her role as Caroline as she embarks on her own crusade to restore order between her friends and bring Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) back to Mystic falls.
