Dr. Panda creator and leading kids' app developer TribePlay has released Dr. Panda & Toto's Treehouse for iOS and Android devices.

The game is a virtual pet simulator, and one of the first designed especially for children. The game gives kids a freshly-hatched turtle named Toto to care for and play with.

Kids can explore the treehouse Toto lives in, taking part in all sorts of activities like blowing bubbles, jumping rope, making sandwiches and making sure Toto is nice and clean.

The treehouse Toto lives in has four big rooms to explore, each filled with lots of activities.

What makes the game stand out is it is totally devoid of leveling up, purchasable cosmetic pieces, and other expendable currencies that normally exist in such games on smartphones and tablets. While there is plenty to discover and explore, the whole game is available from the outset at a set price with no additional fees or other barriers of entry.

Developer TribePlay has said that Dr.

Panda & Toto's Treehouse is a pet game designed for kids from the ground up, and they spent months testing and re-testing the games with parents and children to revise it.

TribePlay stated that testing with parents and kids together is important not only from a gameplay perspective, but also to see how parents and children interact with a game together.

"With our audience being mainly younger kids, we didn't feel that going very aggressive with in-app purchases was a wise choice for anyone." says CEO and founder of TribePlay, Thijs Bosma.

"We wanted to make a game where players could simply care for and play with a cute pet, while they foster important skills like responsibility and empathy. We opted for simplicity over everything else."

TribePlay has followed a similar "for kids" mantra since the start of the Dr. Panda brand in mid-2012.

Since then, the Dr.

Panda games have since accrued over 25 million downloads worldwide garnering worldwide acclaim from kids, parents and critics.

Hoopa City, a city-building game designed for kids released in late June, was a big hit for the company with praise from major children's technology publications like Common Sense Media and Children's Technology Review.

Dr. Panda & Toto's Treehouse was released on August 14 on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store for Android for $2.99.
