Alternative rock band Train is embarking on a pretty big project with the upcoming Train Does Led Zeppelin II cover album.

The band stopped by the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show to talk about the album, perform some of the hits and much more.

Stern welcomed lead singer Patrick Monahan and the rest of the Train band who will be releasing a cover album of Led Zeppelin titled, Train Does Led Zeppelin II.

The album will be covered in the same style that Led Zeppelin II was completed in.

Monahan told Stern that they chose to do Zeppelin because that is what they first started to play and how they would get people out to see them.

"Howard asked if they could have done this in their own way and not done it note by note. Pat said he likes going for the original," according to a MarksFriggin rundown.

"He said that he has done other performances the way the artist wrote it and they appreciate that.

Howard said it's like using the lyrics and creating a whole other song out of it.

Pat said people are going to bag it either way so he's just honoring what he thinks is the greatest rock and roll band of all time."

What's even more interesting about the album is that all of the proceeds will go towards charity.

The guys spent plenty of time talking about Train's music today and the competition the band has in getting their music played on the radio.

During the appearance, Train performed the hits from the upcoming album Train Does Led Zeppelin II, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, June 3.

The performances were so good even Stern said he was speechless. You can stream/listen to Train's Interview and Performances from the Stern Show below.
