Starbucks really wants its morning customers to come back in the afternoon.

In order to do that if often offers a promotion where if you save a receipt from a morning beverage, an afternoon one can be had at a cheaper price.

Now, the company is trying something else as it is offering what is alternately known as the Sweet Receipt or the Treat Receipt depending upon which store you visit.

With this program, customers can bring in their morning receipt after 2 p.m. the same day at participating stores, and get a deal on bakery products -- in most cases being able to purchase them for $1.

This offer excludes breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, bistro boxes, yogurt and fruit. To receive a Sweet Receipt you must complete one transaction in the morning.

This transaction can be the purchase of a beverage or breakfast item, or even reloading your Starbucks card. If you're a Starbucks member, you can still collect stars on your $1 treat.

This deal offers a significant price cut on most bakery items. The receipt must be a physical paper receipt -- the one in the company's app does not count.
