The wait isn't that much longer, Star Wars fans. And soon we will all see what happens after the redeemed Anakin Skywalker kills Emperor Palpatine.

In 2012, Disney purchased Lucasfilm and announced Star Wars Episode VII for 2015. It's difficult to believe that the film--entitled The Force Awakens--will be released in 400 days. Disney stated their excitement for the movie's release date via Twitter.

Directed by J.J Abrams and co-written by Lawrence Kasdan--a writer who worked on Empire Stirkes Back--the film will feature appearances from stars of the original trilogy. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher are all confirmed to reprise their roles as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia, respectively.

In addition Anthony Daniels will reprise his role is C-3PO.

He also set the bar for the movie at soaring altitudes. On November 2, Daniels implied that The Force Awakens would supplant Empire Strikes Back as the best film in the series.

Empire is the highest rated film of the Star Wars franchise. With a score of 96 on Rotten Tomatoes, critics agreed that it "(took) the series to heightened emotional levels."

But the anticipation for the film is heightened by the lack of news about it. There have been tidbits leaked by notable figures in film--Kevin Smith, in particular--but there are still questions surrounding the project.
