Amid raging political debate on the Howard Stern Show Wednesday morning, Russell Brand dished a bit about what it was like being married to International pop star, Katy Perry.

"There were two tracks to it," Brand said about his marriage. "There was chaos of the external, glitter covered attention world, and then there's the fact that we're just two people."

The couple was married in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in October 2010, but filed for divorce a little over a year later. In a recent article, the DailyMail reported Perry's trauma after the relationship, quoting her to say: "'It was emotionally traumatic for me.

It was the death of a dream. I was in fairytale land, and the reality of it wasn't so."

After splitting with Perry, Russell Brand's love life has been moderately scandalous.

He dated English journalist and heiress, Jemima Khan, for a year before the relationship ran it's course.
He also reportedly had an affair with glamour model Sophie Coady, which Brand denied.

He even brought the false allegations against him to court.

"I am an egomaniac, and a total narcissist and really self-involved guy," Brand admits.

"But I'm also quite sensitive and caring, and I'm trying to move toward that part of me." In an interview with Matt Lauer on Monday, October 13, Brand said he had loved being married to Katy Perry.

Wednesday morning, Brand told Stern: "She's a really lovely person, and I'm very grateful for that time with her."
