While Prince's 'Saturday Night Live' performance was well-received by audiences, Stern was less than impressed.

"It was so disturbing and boring," Stern said.

He was not a fan of the dull tunes and all-girl backup band, 3rdEyeGirl. It was obviously an excruciating 8 minutes for Stern, and a caller also agreed, saying he disrupted the show with his stupidity.

Prince performed a medley of music, highlighting his new album, "Art Official Age." Stephen Deusner of Pitchfork rated the album a 6.5, and said "What they don't have is much of a personality.

Recorded live in the studio using analog equipment, the album is nevertheless too proficient, too slick, and too professional to come across as much more than anonymous."

Prince played some of the songs he hopes to be hits from his new album, and the audience seemed to be pretty enamored by the performance from the legendary rock star.

Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed Prince's performance as "incredible" and had a vastly different opinion than Stern.

Daniel Kreps wrote: "Prince's unprecedented eight-minute SNL set still felt too short as most viewers were probably wishing the Purple Rain singer would perform an encore instead of kicking it over to Weekend Update."

Stern believed that he wasn't thinking of the audience, and that he should have played his hits.

His new music is a bit of a flop, and audiences want to hear hits like "Purple Rain." Robin believes SNL shouldn't have even booked him. Well, Prince won't find a fan at the Stern Show.
