God of War released earlier this year on the PS4 console exclusively and is already being praised to be an early "Game of the Year" contender.

With the success of the game, there's been some early discussions of turning the popular video game franchise into a big Hollywood movie.

Pacific Rim: Uprising director, Steven DeKnight, said an an interview with ComicBook.com that he has has early discussions with Sony about a potential movie. You can read his comments about a God of War movie posted down below.

"I would love to see it. Somebody had asked me about video games and I've always been a fan of God of War. I think the latest game was just so beautiful and phenomenal. I would love to tackle God of War movie or I would love to see somebody put that up on the big screen. Somebody asked me, 'Well, who would you have to have Kratos?' And immediately for me: Dave Batista would be the man. I think he can do anything. You can do drama, real emotion, humor, action. What would I like to see from a movie like that? A bit of a tricky question because there hasn't really been 100% success of translating a video game to a movie. It's a very, very tricky process."

Casting Dave Bautista is a good move as the wrestler turned actor is already popular with fans thanks to his role as Drax in the MCU movies.

That said, Bautista is lobbying to play Marcus Fenix in a Gears of War movie too so he might have to choose which project he wants to do more.

In my opinion, Dave Bautista should get cast in Gears of War instead leaving the role of Kratos to his former boss Triple H. After all, Triple H really looks like the new and current iteration of Kratos in the PS4 sequel.
