When it comes to beating the competition, Laurie Hernandez has found a way to do so in the Olympics and on Dancing With The Stars.

The gold-medalist and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, visited The Ellen Show to chat about the recent perfect score they received on the show. DeGeneres kicked off the interview by being bewildered by the perfect 10 score.

The host wanted to know if there was an added pressure for future performances after that one and Hernandez said that it does make them feel like they need to keep improving on their performances, as they do every week.

Hernandez also said she has a great partner in Chmerkovskiy. Chmerkovskiy added that there is pressure going in to the competition with a great athlete/national treasure.

Chmerkovskiy said he has never seen so many people smile when they talk about his partner. Hernandez said that Chmerkovskiy told her that the moves are all about an emotional connection and being proper.

Chmerkovskiy cleared it up a bit by saying it's not about the steps like it is in gymnastics, rather it's how you make people feel. Meanwhile, Hernandez shared one of her tasty secrets of success.

The star said that she just pretends she is smelling a quesadilla.

While she is just 16-years-old and has never had a boyfriend, Hernandez does have a celebrity crush on Dave Franco, who sent Hernandez a special message from The Ellen Show.

Franco said he would love to meet Hernandez in person, which looked to give her a little motivation as she and Chmerkovskiy performed for The Ellen Show crowd.
