While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Damon spoke about the Water.org program that he and Gary White started. With the Water.org initiative Damon and White are trying to help countries without sanitized and safe drinking water remedy the issue.

DeGeneres and Chideo got together and wanted to help the program by donating $20,000. The only catch, Damon had to hit the "Whip and Nae Nae" dances made popular by rising singer Silento.

DeGeneres said that she would be the judge of whether or not Damon's dances were good enough to get him the $20,000 check for his charity organization.

So, for the greater good of clean water for the entire world on step at a time, Damon hit the Whip and Nae Nae as the audience cheered him on.

DeGeneres eyes were tearing up with laughter after the dance and she finally presented him with the check for Water.org.

Damon also cleared up his statement from his interview with The Guardian. He said that actors are better when their personal lives are left out. Damon clarified the statements by saying he meant that actors are more effective when they're a mystery.

Damon continued to explain that someone picked the remarks up as him telling gay actors to "get back in the closet." However Damon said that his example about him and Ben Affleck being called gay after writing the script for Good Will Hunting was not to be compared with other gay actors in the community.

Damon said it was painful to be represented in a way that was contrary to your true beliefs. You can watch the defense as well as his dance moves below.
