Martin Short and Howard Stern swapped stories about their memories of the late Robin Williams.

Short was shocked when he received the news of Williams' passing. "I never would have thought Robin was suicidal, but he was battling an illness," Short said. "I have no idea what was going on in his kind sweet brain."

"I interviewed him many years ago, and it didn't go well. I was an a**hole, and it was my fault," Stern laments.

He had been discussing with his wife, Beth, about calling and reaching out to Williams to tell him he was a fan and he's sorry about their former mishap.

Unfortunately, the day he was going to make the call, the news broke that Williams had committed suicide. Stern regrets this.

"He was really, deeply, a sweet, kind guy," Short said. "When he did comedy, he really cared."

In the 1980s, Martin Short was doing "I'm A Big Girl Now" when Robin Williams was peforming on "Mork and Mindy." SAG went on strike, and Short decided to go back to Second City for the duration of the strike, when Williams asked if he could join.

Williams flew to Chicago to perform, and the audiences absolutely loved him.

According to Short, he had fallen off the stage during his first performance and ruined his pants. Short's wife washed them, and they shrunk in the drier.

Williams joked about what he would tell his wife when he returned to Los Angeles, saying, "I promise, honey, I didn't sleep with anyone else. I don't know why my pants are four inches shorter."

Robin Williams is deeply missed by everyone who's life he has touched.
