The hit UK band Kingsland Road gives Empty Lighthouse a little insight on how the band got together and what it's like on the road.

The band will be performing at Wembley Arena and their debut album is available for preorder right now.

"Kingsland Road was formed by college friends Connor and Josh in 2012 who went on to find Thompson, Matt and Jay on YouTube," according to the bands website. According to the main page, the band prides itself for its social media presence.

The band rose to fame after appearing on The X Factor last year, but have gone back to East London to whip up some new music for their fans.

It's debut EP, "The Dirty Dancer" EP was released on August 10, and the band took some time to answer a few EL questions.

Check out the Interview!

What was it like for the band going through the roller coaster ride that is The X-Factor?

Matt: It was a show turned us from boys into men!

Connor: Yes we cried a lot, well... I cried a lot! They were tears of happiness though...

Josh: Yeah, Connor is the emotional one in the band as you can tell. We are so grateful for X Factor giving us a chance. Not many pre-formed bands get as far as we did so we feel quite lucky.

Does the band have any particularly memorable moments from your time on the show?

Josh: There are so many memorable moments, but for me it was the day we were all in New York to find out if we had made it to the finals.

It was about 95 degrees, and the September 11th anniversary, so things were already emotional. When we found out we were through, we fell to floor and literally piled on top of each other with our mentor jumping on the top!

JJ 'Thompson": Telling our families and friends we had made it through was even better.

People are always sceptical when you say 'you're in a band' so to let them know it was all worth while was such a good feeling.

Quick origin story, How was the band formed?

Connor: Josh and I were at college together called 'Masters' in Essex.

We auditioned loads of guys off YouTube and planted ourselves in the auditions so we could see who were the 'nice' guys in the waiting room, not just the most talented.

We all moved into a 2 bed flat in East London which was like first year of college all over again!

Matt: We were nearly signed by a few labels and we thought our luck had run dry but then X Factor came along!

What are some of the most memorable shows that the band has performed since the debut single?

JJ 'Thompson': We have a gig tomorrow actually at Wembley Arena London for 24,000 Girl Guides.

I've got a feeling that will be our best one yet.
Josh: Up until now though, I'd say the night we supported Little Mix. It was our first gig after X Factor so we'll never forget it!

What is the craziest thing that has happened to the band on tour?

Connor: Craziest thing on tour? Well every day is always a bit crazy with Kingsland Road but so far I would say finding out mid-song that we had a deal in the USA tops it.

This guy came on stage telling us we were going to be releasing 'Dirty Dancer' in the States and we were like 'Huh? Are you serious?'

JJ 'Thompson': Yeah we literally didn't believe him and carried on. I think he was a bit annoyed.

Is the debut album going to be ready any time soon?

Josh: Yes! The album is ready for pre-order now at pledgemusic.com/Kingslandroad and we are pretty hyped about it. We've been able to write the album ourselves, which makes it so much more personal and less cliche.

Any message to your fans?

Matt: The Kings Are Coming!
