Katherine Heigl Makes her Howard Stern Show Debut

Actress Katherine Heigl made her Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show debut today, and talked about her early life growing up in Connecticut, fame and the Cats Pride movement she is supporting.

Stern started the interview by mentioning that Heigl is a big movie star however, Heigl said that she didn't really become famous until her 20s. According to Stern Heigl's fame began after her aunt used her for a commercial that was promoting her product.

Heigl was born in Washington D.C. but grew up in Connecticut and her photo was sent out to an agency which lead to her starting a modeling career at age 9 thanks to her mom.

"She said she grew up in an area that was kind of snobby. She said it was old money and it wasn't the kind of thing they liked," according to MarksFriggin's rundown.

"Howard said they want the quiet money where they don't have to work and they don't have to be famous. Howard asked if it gave her some sense of power making that kind of money as a kid.

Howard said she must have been making great money. She said they're great because you make residuals."

Heigl revealed that her first film was at the age of 14 and she was actually wearing a thong bathing suit. She was acting alongside Gerard Depardieu and told Stern that it was in Depardieu's tamed days.

Heigl was raised Mormon and wanted to wear a regular bikini but the director was not having it. Her first kiss was in the movie with a 22-year-old guy which she described as simultaneously strange and a dream com true.

The actress set the rumors straight as to whether or not she dated John Mayer. She told Stern that because she grew up in Connecticut, she had mutual friends with Mayer and that they were just hanging out from time to time but not dating.

Heigl spoke about how her family became attached to the Mormon religion after her brother died at the age of 15.

She said while she doesn't practice Mormonism today, that her brother's Mormon friends were very supportive and provided the family with a sense of faith and support.

Heigl is know for her roles such as Grey's Anatomy, Bride of Chucky and Knocked Up.

Heigl's appearance on the show was to promote her new cat litter, Cat's Pride.

"She said she has 7 dogs and 8 cats. Howard said that's a big spread. She said that's why she needs other people involved," according to MF.

"Howard said that he sees dogs and cats cuddling and getting along. Katherine said she started her foundation in 2008."
