After spending years on Rikers Island, Kalief Browder shares his story of wrongfully being accused of theft in 2010 and sent to prison without being convicted with "The View".

Browder was walking home from a friend when a police officer stopped him and his friend were arrested. Browder is the youngest of seven siblings and his mother couldn't afford to make his bail of $3,500.

He says he did not commit the crime and that he was beaten, stomped and attacked by correctional officers while being held at Rikers.

With about 30 trials no conviction Browder says that he lost his childhood. He claims to be robbed of the high school experience and feels a little older than he is.

Rosie O'Donnell sat down with Browder to talk about his pain in prison as well as trying to commit suicide while in jail. Browder was sent to solitary confinement because he had fights with the inmates or fights with correctional officers that he ended up being the wrong end of each time.

Browder says that he was offered to be freed if he admitted to the crime but deep down inside he knew that he did not commit the crime and he would not be confessing to it.

"In 2010, a complete stranger accused Kalief Browder, then just 16 years old, of robbing him," The Huffington Post reports. "Browder was walking home in the Bronx from a party one night when police officers stopped and arrested him.

Browder says officers told him he'd probably be freed later that night. Instead, Browder would go on to spend three birthdays on Rikers."

Now Browder can't get into the regular flow of life because he is playing catch-up. He is currently working and going to college and aspires to be a business manager.

He says everyday he is going through a different stage. O'Donnell continued to tell Browder how proud she was and how much she believes in him while presenting a brand new Apple laptop for him to use in his studies.
