Jon Bernthal Talks About Life Before He Got Famous

Like many celebrities, Jon Bernthal's life before he was famous wasn't a bed of roses.
Bernthal is continuing his press run after a highly successful showing in Netflix's Daredevil as the Punisher. He stopped by the Conan Show to talk about the life before his fame.
Conan O'Brien asked Bernthal if he ever thought back about the days before the fame and what came after was one story that we weren't expecting. He told O'Brien that when he was starting out it was good for him and he didn't anything to his name really.
He remembered just moving out to L.A. without anything and he was a huge fan of The White Stripes. He found out that they were playing at the Greek Theatre and really wanted to go, however, he couldn't afford a ticket.
So, Bernthal improvised. He realized that the Greek Theatre did not have a roof so Bernthal decided to make his own concert. Bernthal told O'Brien that he bought a couple of 40oz. of liquor and sat on the sidewalk as the concert went on. The story gets even better when Bernthal says that Seth Green and Macaulay Culkin were walking up.
At that point he had a small role in a movie with Culkin's girlfriend but he didn't know Culkin personally. Either way Bernthal yelled "hey Mac," because he remembered everyone calling him that.
They actually came up to him and asked him what he was doing. Green told Bernthal that it was his lucky day and handed him a backstage pass to go see The White Stripes.
It all came full circle when Bernthal got a call while doing The Walking Dead. Green wanted Bernthal to do a voice on his show and when they met again, he told Bernthal how big of a fan he was of him.
Bernthal said that he stopped Green before he could continue and told the whole crew the story.
Green said he had no idea it was him and thought he was a homeless guy. You can watch Bernthal retell the story in the video below.
