If you're from the older generation and couldn't be bothered with the new social media crazes such as Snapchat and Instagram, it can be pretty hard to get into the terminology of it all.

So, Jimmy Fallon gave Whoopi Goldberg a lesson on Snapchat during her visit to The Tonight Show.

Goldberg and Fallon sat in the crowd and he helped focus her phone but instructed her to push the button so that she would be doing the work.

They took the first selfie that she has ever taken but Fallon immediately said it was not up to par.

He asked Goldberg if she knew "duckface," of course he was referring to the pouty face that some selfie lovers resort to, however, Goldberg seemed to have thought he was talking about an actual person.

Fallon eventually showed Goldberg what he was talking about and together they took her very first Snap. After Fallon announced the moment, Goldberg asked if they were chatting yet, sending Fallon and the audience into laughter.

The generational divide thanks to technology really showed its face during this segment. You can watch Jimmy Fallon teach Whoopi Goldberg how to Snapchat in the video below.
