Pop star Jessie J opened the MTV Video Music Awards with her the hit, "Bang, Bang," featuring Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, who performed their own hit singles "Anaconda" and "Break Free" as part of the show-starting spectacle.

Grande steps out wearing a very shiny one piece outfit and high boots, singing her hit song "Break Free." She gets the crowd going as they shoot their hands up in the air and fist pump to the EDM track off her upcoming album.

She prances around and is glowing for her first performance and appearance at the VMA's.

After Grande comes Minaj and her controversial hit "Anaconda," and she is wearing a lot more than she sported in her music video which received tons of attention this week due to the "explicit nature." She shakes her derriere and the screams continue to rise as the twerking ensues.

Jessie J rounds things out starting her hit song "Bang Bang," and Grande comes in sporting a new striped one piece.

The two divas continue dancing as Minaj spits a rapid fire verse from the song and as the three stand in the center of a jam packed crowd they completely work the stage for an explosive beginning to the show.
