Instagram Goes Down: Crashes Again

While uploading embedded Instagram posts on to our website it appears that something has gone wrong with the social media giant.

Facebook owns Instagram and while it is known for being very stable there have been instances this year where they had a few issues.

The error that comes up is a "503 Service Unavailable No server is available to handle this request." Much of Empty Lighthouse's embedded videos are down but should be up as soon as Instagram fixes their issue.

The Twitter atmosphere has been buzzing as the photo sharing giant struggles. #Instagramdown is currently trending on Twitter and those who sought out enjoyment from videos and photos will now have to turn to Twitter to get their fix.

"Is Instagram down? @rubarrichello totally disappeared, even his likes and comments to my photos :(( #instagramdown," tweeted one very upset Instagram subscriber.

UPDATE: INSTAGRAM BACK UP

At approximately 4:23PM Instagram came back up with what appears to be a new homepage. According to DownDetector.com the problem was first reported at 3:25 PM on August 28.
