With 2018 soon behind us, we are all looking forward to what is coming next in 2019.

Movie website, IMDB, has now revealed a list of the most anticipated movies of 2019. The list is quite shocking since there are some notable snubs and number 1 is surprising.

In terms of movies missing, the top 10 list does not feature The Lion King, Spider-Man: Far From Home or even Star Wars: Episode IX. The latter two don't have trailers yet, but it's surprising to see Aladdin on the list and not The Lion King!

I'm not sure about Spider-Man, but Episode IX's anticipation has changed ever since people did not like Star War: The Last Jedi.

Hopefully people can start liking Star Wars again as it's a bit of a shame the franchise's fans are so divisive now.

Anyway, you can see the top 10 list below. IMDB says this is based on movies' pageviews on the website.

  • 10) Hellboy
  • 9) Aladdin
  • 8) Joker
  • 7) Glass
  • 6) It: Chapter 2
  • 5) The Irishman
  • 4) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
  • 3) Dark Phoenix
  • 2) Avengers: Endgame
  • 1) Captain Marvel

It's super surprising to see Captain Marvel beat out Avengers: Endgame to be the most anticipated movie of 2019. Avengers: Endgame has more trailer views though since the first trailer nearly earned 300 million views in just a span of 24 hours!

Anyway, this is just one site's list for the most anticipated movies of 2019. Other polls and lists will probably include movies not listed here such as Spider-Man: Far From Home, The Lion King and Star Wars: Episode IX.
