Ian Somerhalder Is Up Early On Instagram: Gets Ready For Season 6 Of 'The Vampire Diaries' By Thanking Fans

As a star of the hit television series "The Vampire Diaries," Ian Somerhalder knows all about early mornings but gets a surprise from his furry kids as he gets ready for season 6.

"Next to my bed...Late-night rambunctious playtime is cute-but really makes dad's early-morning Vampire Diaries call time brutal... Thanks kids. Really," read the caption on Somerhalder's photo posted to his Instagram page.

Even with his busy schedule he still seems to find time to make sure his furry kids are feeling loved as they engage in some late-night playtime.

Fans would think that Somerhalder is use to it, playing a vampire and all on The CW's, "The Vampire Diaries," which is set to kick off it's 6th season tomorrow, Thursday, October 2.

"Sometimes you just want to make sure you get up... Crazy to get up and its OCTOBER! What is happening? Where is 2014 going?! Wtf?!" read the caption of his first post of October.

It looks like the year isn't just flying by for his fans either.

Somerhalder also took some time to thank his fans via Twitter and Facebook for their continuous support bringing the show to it's 6th season with the premiere just one day away.
