As expected, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1" crushes its opening weekend according to the official worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of Nov. 23, 2014.

"The global phenomenon that is 'The Hunger Games' continues with the latest installment 'Mockingjay, Part 1,' launching in 85 International markets this weekend on 17,000 screens, this is the biggest day-and-date release of the year, and Lionsgate's widest release ever," said Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

"With an estimated international weekend total of $152 million plus the North American debut of $123 million the worldwide combined total is an impressive $275 million."
