Howard Stern was very upset Monday morning when he was welcomed to his studio by chemical fumes. The console and equipment in Stern's studio was sprayed down with chemicals before the show was supposed to begin.

"It stinks to high heaven," Stern said.

"Come over and breathe this s*** in, and die with me." The chemical fumes were very strong, and Stern was very unhappy to have to sit in the studio in an uncomfortable environment.

But for the sake of the show, Stern held strong.

He made a new rule for the studio: "Every f***ing day, the engineering team meet and go over the board, AFTER the show, not BEFORE." There should be no more maintenance and spraying before the show on Monday mornings, so Stern will not have to breathe it in.

"I'd rather smoke a pack of cigarettes," Stern said.

He read the warnings on the air, and the spray is a known eye irritant. It should be sprayed in a well-ventilated area.

The warnings suggest to avoid prolonged breathing in of the fumes, which set Stern off, as it would set anyone off who had to work in those conditions. The situation was pretty disgusting.

"If you're having a burning sensation in your eyes and lungs, you should leave," Robin assured.

This aggravation is apparently not fresh. Stern was on edge all weekend, and very stressed out. This studio upset did not help his feelings.

We hope you feel better, Howard!
