During the summer Howard Stern's already light work schedule becomes even lighter. In fact, it would be easier to report on what days he works than which ones he takes off.

With summer nearing its end Stern is off again this week.

The talk show host, who already only works a three day schedule, had been taking Wednesdays off as well for the last two weeks in order to tape the live edition of "America's Got Talent." This week he chose to just not come in at all leaving fans with repeats of old programming.

In past years when Stern took a prolonged break special such as "The History of Howard Stern" aired. Those specials seem to have been lost to budget cuts as SiriusXM has greatly reduced its spending on Stern channels.

At one-time Howard 101, Stern;s second channel had live afternoon, evening, and weekend programming. Now, those shows have been reduced to a handful on one hour specialty shows.

Empty Lighthouse readers voted overwhelmingly in a poll earlier this year that Stern takes too much time off.
