The year keeps getting bigger for Star Wars. In April, Force Awakens' director J.J Abrams will be opening the Star Wars Celebration, the Star Wars website announced.

"StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens -- who once attended Star Wars Celebration as a fan -- is confirmed to appear at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim this April," the official Star Wars website stated.

"Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will kick off the show in a big way on Thursday morning, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. This will be a day long remembered."

The post is vague about what Abrams will do to start the celebration. But it will likely pertain to The Force Awakens, which we still don't know much about. A trailer for the movie launched last Thanksgiving, and names for the major characters were released a month later.

Other than that, Abrams and his staff have kept a lid on this project. The next big reveal, however, could be coming in April.

The Force Awakens launches in December; it will be the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters since the poorly reviewed Clone Wars released in 2008.

In addition, it will be the first numbered addition to the saga since 2005's Revenge of the Sith.
