Paramount Pictures has now released the first ever trailer for its live action movie version of Sonic The Hedgehog. Sonic himself is CGI, but the rest of the characters are played by real life human actors.

As of right now, it looks like Sonic is the only CGI character that is in the movie.

It doesn't appear as if his friends Tail or Knuckles will be making an appearance. It's possible they could be in the movie, but spoilers have not been leaked yet.

As for Dr Robotnik, he will be played by none other than Jim Carrey.

The trailer shows that this movie will be a comedy so it's a film appropriate for the whole family. You can check out the full synopsis of the movie posted below.

"SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic."

It looks like the trailer has a polarizing reception because over half of the video on YouTube is full of dislikes. Hopefully the film can win back fans when it comes out in North America on November 8th, 2019.
