In honor of Veterans Day, former president Bill Clinton stopped by "Ellen" to talk with host Ellen Degeneres where he shared his thoughts on being a grandfather.

"I miss you, I'm glad to see you," said Clinton before Ellen congratulated him on becoming a grandfather.

"Watching them wake up to the world," he said. "...She just soaks things up. If my mind worked like that, I would be so happy."

The former president spoke glowingly of his granddaughter. "We haven't had much spoiling time," he said. "We have to remember that this is not our child and show up when invited."

The former leader of the free world also shared his thoughts on the show "Scandal," offering his unique take on watching the series, which is set in the White House.

I do watch it. I love anything Shonda Rhimes does.

I also like "House of Cards," Clinton said.

"The thing about "Scandal" and "House of Cards" that make them fun to watch is that I could not imagine being actually able to get away with murder. I wish I had known about that."

Ellen went to a commercial break teasing the Clinton would have a big announcement, implying that it would be about his wife Hillary and her potential run for president.

"I understand that you want to make a big announcement about your wife today," Ellen said.

"She's the happiest grandmother in the world," he said. "If I did know, I wouldn't tell you."
